It's a new, holiday week in MLB, which means we're coming at you with a fresh three-pack of strikeout prop bets to lead you into the July 4 festivities. Here are my three favorite K props for Monday's MLB slate.
I faded Luke Weaver regularly in June with great success, so let's keep it rolling into July. Over his last four starts, Weaver has given up 17 earned runs and recorded only nine strikeouts. The swing-and-miss factor just hasn't been there for Weaver lately, and now he has to face a Washington Nationals lineup that's struck out fewer than any other team in MLB this season. Give me the under.
The last time we saw Domingo German on the mound he retired 27 straight batters to record the 24th perfect game in MLB history, but I'll gladly fade him coming off the greatest day of his baseball life. In German's eight starts before last week's perfecto, he went over 5.5 Ks in only one of them. The Baltimore Orioles have also recorded the sixth-fewest strikeouts against right-handed pitching this season.
Bryan Woo has proven to be a swing-and-miss expert early in his career. Over his first five MLB starts, the right-hander is averaging 12.7 strikeouts per nine innings and has given up more than two earned runs just once. The San Francisco Giants have been lost at the plate lately, as they've recorded the most strikeouts per game (11.2) and the lowest batting average (.196) in the league over the past week. This is a prime matchup for an over.
