Raiders sign rookies to contracts

On Thursday, the Las Vegas Raiders signed a couple of their rookies to their first NFL contracts. This list includes new players Brock Bowers, Trey Taylor, and M.J. Devonshire.

Bowers, Rookie TE

Brock Bowers, the Raiders 13th pick comes in as a rookie additional tight end despite the Raiders drafting Michael Mayer last year. In college, Bowers was an offensive threat and was utilized at multiple different positions on the field.

Bowers has a decorated collegiate resume coming from the notable university of Georgia. Bowers was names SEC Freshman of the Year and also won the John Mackey award. The John Mackey award is presented to the best tight end in college football and was given to Bowers twice.

Taylor,  SAF

Trey Taylor is a rookie defensive back from Air Force Academy who was also an award winner. He was presented the Jim Thorpe award which is given to the best safety in college football.

Taylor was drafted in the seventh-round despite being named as the number one player at his respective position. The Air Force alum will join a safety room with Marcus Epps and fellow Jim Thorpe winner, Trevon Moehrig.

M.J. Devonshire is a rookie defensive back and comes from the University of Pittsburgh. Here, Devonshire was also a factor on special teams returning punts for touchdowns and many yards so he will likely play this for the Raiders.

The exact details for each of these contracts have yet to be released to the public. It is to be assumed that Jackson Powers-Johnson, Delmar Glaze, and Dylan Laube will be signed soon.
